Bathroom Vanity Used With Kitchen Cabinets

I am about to redo my smallish master bath and haven t found any vanities that have blown me away. In fact we ve recently spotted an out of the box trend using ikea kitchen cabinets that we can t get enough of. I have used ikea kitchen cabinets many times as bathroom vanities. You choose from a selection of vanity tops to transform a kitchen cabinet into a bath vanity.
I used ikea cabinets for my kitchen remodel and was extremely happy with them. Here are some options of ikea vanity units. While ikea offers lovely pre designed vanity units the designers at easy installations often use the kitchen sektion cabinet system in the bathroom due to the fact that it has more options for functionality storage and finishing. I am not a professional.
Here is a pic of one project using the former abstrakt now ringhult style doors. I started out with three unfinished stock cabinets from home depot one 30 inch cabinet and two 12 inch cabinets. These stock cabinets are 24 inches deep and while that s the perfect depth for a kitchen or laundry room it s really too deep for a bathroom vanity which is generally 21 inches deep. This meant i also had to re drill new holes for the mounting posts and other hardware.

Kitchen cabinets and bathroom sink cabinets are not mutually exclusive and can cross over well if done correctly. It is a simple task to rip the frames down from 24 to a 19 20 vanity cabinet depth and to use short toekicks to bring the height down from the standard 36 to around 33. Kitchen cabinets have taller. I used cabinet bolts to join the cabinets together tightly.
Some of our innovative clients are opting to use ikea s classic sektion line traditionally for kitchens in their bathroom projects in lieu of the company s bathroom specific godmorgon and hemnes lines. Because kitchen cabinets are too deep for the space i used a table saw to cut off about 4 from the sides and bottoms.
