Building Kitchen Island With Ikea Cabinets

To recap we fully gutted our kitchen late last year to update and create a new layout using ikea kitchen cabinets.

Those can be nice for a lot of reasons but i knew i d be happier if we erected an island in the middle and rounded everything out to make it feel like one big kitchen and not a partial kitchen and then something else. To create more counter space we built our very own 7 foot island that is also home to our kitchen sink and dishwasher. You could also swap out the 2 base cabinets at the back for the shallower 37cm base cabinets for a narrower island. Make a small mobile kitchen island using an expedit shelving unit lagan countertop and branas baskets all from ikea.
