Does Chalk Paint Work On Kitchen Cabinets

Chalk paint is a fantastic option for painting cabinets since there is barely any prep work involved that s right no sanding and sanding and sanding it goes on easily you only need a couple coats and it has a beautiful finish.
You can counteract that by lightly sanding in between coats. Left exposed chalk paint flakes easily so a wax or other topcoat is more than strongly advised. I m a bit old school and like my latex paint. I like that i don t have to wax it every once in a while.
Chalk paint is most effective imo when used for distressing or antiquing but yes you can use chalk paint to paint your cabinets. Chalk paint cabinets durability factor. Or bath for that matter some things to keep in mind. Many people swear by it because you don t have to sand prime everything.
But again i would not recommend wax of any kind in the kitchen. Chalk paint you say. Originally i used annie sloan chalk paint in old white on the uppers and duck egg blue on the lower cabinets. They will advise you on the finish.

Luckily chalk paints are thick but will also dry quickly and thus you can add another coating immediately. Painting the cabinets using chalk paints is not a big deal. Not the look i want with white cabinets. I would absolutely do it again.
