I m not sure that i would try that with golden oak though.
Kitchen cabinets all interior trim and a lot of wood flooring. Large kitchen with lots of 80 s oak cabinet. I have all golden oak trim and doors in my house with a paler oak laminate flooring. Plus trim around pantry door laundry door basement door and sliding glass door.
I want to renovate my kitchen half bath and laundry room with more modern cabinets but can t envision how it will look with all that golden oak and i can t afford to change all the doors and trim. This was by far the most time intensive part of the whole project but the final finish on my cabinets is flawless so it. Instead of fresh classic white cabinets to me they look like dated oak cabinets that are trying to hide behind white paint. So there was no question i had to take care of the wood grain before i could really start painting.

Your post reassured me in that decision. This cool color will accent the warm tones in your honey oak cabinets and create a nice contrast to the rich orange hues. Because our home is very open from kitchen to living area and into a large foyer i opted to go with the one color throughout. What exactly would i use the get them white. We are closing on a house soon. We have honey oak everywhere. By the way the house we sold built 2001 golden oak throughout sold for 265k in lino was our residence so the 2 weeks was no problem for us.
