Apply contact cement to the flattened particleboard and the back of the laminate and let it set for five to 10 minutes. He stained them to match so the kitchen looked the same and was done a lot cheaper than new cabinets. Particle board should be roughly 3 4 but if can get up to an inch or more wide from water damage. Affix the broken piece if the piece is still attached to the particle board then dry fit it first to determine how well it will sit.
This happened to my brother his ice maker line had a slow leak and soaked the bottom of the cabinets until they started to collapse. I took the doors and the face frames off and built new plywood boxes and put the face frames and doors back on. Wait several minutes for the wood glue to get tacky and press the piece in place. Then fill the glue injector with the wood glue and apply it where the piece broke off as well as on the piece itself.
Rub the putty into your damaged surface to fill it with wood putty. Apply wood filler following the directions on the can or tube. Apply the contact cement while a helper holds the thermofoil separate from the mdf coat both the back of the thermofoil and the top of the mdf core with contact cement using a disposable brush. This is how i replaced the sink base cabinet.

Over time this can cause the wood under the sink to rot. Once the hole is filled empty your putty knife and scrape the surface repeatedly to remove the excess putty. Use a putty knife to smooth the top of the repair to make sure that the surface is level with the rest of the particleboard.
