The entire cabinet was flooded with water because i had been unaware that it had been leaking for a while.
Since the connections are mostly out of sight you may not notice the leak until it has soaked your cabinet and everything else in the under sink storage. When it becomes worn or cracked water can seep down along the faucet body and out the bottom when the valve is turned on. Remove the o rings from the faucet body using the needle nose pliers. The o ring fits around the inner brass body of the faucet beneath the outer housing and it serves to seal the faucet body against water.
You ll need some basic tools for this repair including. A water line leak can be caused by corrosion or more commonly a failed gasket in the connector. This type of leak is often caused by an internal o ring that has dried up or cracked. Tools you will need to repair a faucet leaking from the base.

My kitchen faucet was dripping into the cabinet below and sometimes it would become so filled with water that it would leak out at multiple points all long the faucet body. The plastic quick connect looks to have too much give and is no longer strong enough to keep the water line connected. I took a look and it looks to be coming from the quick connect for the water line.
