Measure out and cut a length of crown molding that is at least a few inches longer than the side of your cabinet.
Provide a nailing surface for crown moulding by attaching solid wood mounting strips to the top edges of the cabinets. Installing the molding helps to prevent dust from accumulating on top of the cabinets and does not leave a gap. Use a sharp pencil for making all marks. Repeat this process with another piece of crown molding.
Cut strips of straight 3 4 in x 1 1 2 in wood to fit the front and sides of each cabinet.
