Red Milk Paint Kitchen Cabinets

Since my cabinets have concealed hinges located on the inside of the cabinet i did not remove the cabinet doors.
And they were 100 correct. With the milk paint i could finish two coats on about ten different doors in a few hours. Repair these first with wood glue before sanding the veneered surface. I applied two coats of oil based polyurethane by brush.
For a little refresher here. Your cabinets look beautiful. To break the monotony the homeowner added a black island and a checkered backsplash. I m worried it s going to gunk up from the oils from your hands and all the other grease and food in the kitchen.
I am currently looking into painting my kitchen cabinets. The bright red paint and glossy finish on these cabinets highlight their detailed trim work and golden knobs. I was sick of resenting my kitchen island. If your cabinets have a wood veneer essentially a very thin layer of real hardwood over a pressed material you will also need to sand before painting your kitchen cabinets but before you break out the sandpaper or paint carefully inspect the veneer for loose edges chips or cracks.

Hi marilyn i just started painting my kitchen cabinets with any sloan chalk paint. 50 50 mix of pure white and old white. Painting kitchen cabinets is a long process no matter what you do but this dry time can significantly simplify the process. Of course they said to use wax but i went with a water based poly.
Unless you re putting a clear finish over the milk paint i don t think it s going to perform very well. The milk paint is a custom mix of colors from the old fashioned milk paint company. Thanks for detailing each step including the bloopers. Other paints take hours to dry.
