The design accessories and the functionality of the kitchen are more important than picking gorgeous cherry cabinets or painted white and colored cabinet. The higher price point warrants a lifetime value with extreme durability that seldom chips or dents. I may add a stained island to add dimension but can t decide on that either. Cherry wood cabinets are a go to for traditionalists.
After spending all that money to gut it and rebuild it we didn t want white cabinets again so we went with light maple and we ve been very pleased. The floors are natural. Dark cherry cabinets and taste specific granite do appeal to a certain group of people but that group is getting smaller and smaller and older. Not sure about counter color if we go cherry.
We are updating the 20 year old kitchen cabinets and counters from the maple and tile as seen to shaker cabinets either cherry medium or white with granite countertops. I love the look of white cabinets but i m starting to wonder if i m nuts since they are relatively new. Would cherry be a bad choice for today s designing. The lighter colour will work well to achieve any look whether you want to go modern contemporary traditional or even country with your kitchen style.
